Transcription Blog - The Story So Far

I started this transcription blog to learn more about transcription and to share what I learn with you - the reader. Transcription is my job.  It's also a passion of mine.  It's given me all that I have and I appreciate it.

And, this blog is a way for me to give back, and a huge experiment.

An Experiment

I have been building blogs for the past 5 years.  Those five years were spent learning how to blog, how to engage readers and also how to use keywords.

In building blogs, I have used both Blogger.com and WordPress (self-hosted).

WordPress is an extremely search-friendly software.  It's easy to set up and get indexed by major search engines especially Google.  WordPress is so versatile you could basically build any type of website - forum, blog, membership sites, etc.  I really love WordPress.

However, this particular blog is an experiment.  An experiment to try and rank at a very competitive keyword - transcription - and build a useful and highly rank site using Blogger.com

So far, Transcription HR blog has been indexed by Google.  Though, some pages are slow to get indexed, generally it has been going well.

It's also an experiment so far as writing is concerned.  You see, I've never actually written so professionally and beautifully as I write here!  I'm proud of most of the posts I've written here on Transcription HR blog.

It's true that some of the decisions I've made for this blog like the name - Transcription HQ - is hard to explain or even rationalize.  Maybe if I ever get a domain name for this blog it'd be something different but with the keyword - transcription - intact.

It's just a month since I started this blog.  And, this is the 30th post!

It's true that some of the posts are from my other blog - regardless this in itself is an achievement.  I think passion for the subject or topic you blog is very important for a blog.

If you search the term transcription or transcription blog on Google most of the blogs that rank for these terms do not teach much about transcription to the average person.  Nor are they helpful or resourceful enough for transcribers and transcription business owners.

This fact also inspired me to write about transcription in a way that is helpful and resourceful.

Next Step

To get indexed by Google and other search engines is just the beginning.

The next step is to promote this blog.

The next few months I'll be commenting on other relevant blogs (though they are so darn hard to find), write on my favorite free article submission sites to get backlinks and maybe, write one or two guest posts.

I believe writing original and useful contents is the best way to grow this blog. So, writing on this blog is my priority.  I'm thinking 1 or 2 in depth posts and a quick grammar or transcription tip a week will do for now.

I Need Your Help!

I need your help - yes, you - the reader.  A site without readers is just another site.  I want to build a community around this blog and I invite you to be part of this blog - especially if you have an interest in transcription whether as a job, as a business or even as a client.

Transcription HR blog is nothing without you.  Please share your insights, experiences, thoughts and tell your friend and family to read it!

Subscribe via RSS or email and share the posts on Facebook, Twitter or StumbleUpon to raise awareness!

Hope you'll accompany on this journey.

Thank you!
